About this Confidentiality Policy
The 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line offers emotional support for anyone over the age of 16 in England and Wales who has been affected by rape, child abuse, sexual assault, sexual harassment or any other form of sexual violence, at any point in their life. This includes people of all genders who have experienced sexual violence or abuse, as well as anyone supporting them.
Summary
Our Support Line Workers are trained staff who are there to listen, support, inform and signpost via webchat or calls. We aim to provide a safe and confidential space. This policy explains how we protect the privacy of people who contact the service and how their information is handled. It also outlines the rare occasions when confidentiality may need to be broken, for example if there is a serious and immediate risk to someone's life and safety.
